Default CNN Reporter Jeanne Moos' - 04-11-2014, 06:26 PM

These forums are run and populated by mostly Americans, so I was curious as to the thoughts you may or may not have had about one of Jeanne Moos' latest stories about my country & my culture.

Her story; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__YNc_t42WY

Petition for Jeanne Moos' public apology;
http://www.change.org/en-GB/petition...share_petition

Reason for his Ta Moko (Ass Tat); Ta moko - traditional Māori tattooing, often on the face - is a taonga (treasure) to Māori for which the purpose and applications are sacred.
Every moko contains ancestral / tribal messages specific to the wearer. These messages tell the story of the wearer's family and tribal affiliations, and their place in these social structures.
A moko’s message would also contain the wearer’s ‘value’ by way of their genealogy, and their knowledge and standing in their social level.

The clip of New Zealand troops helping Americans in Afghanistan doing the haka (the dance and yelling)
is a traditional ancestral war cry, dance or challenge from the Māori people of New Zealand. It is a posture dance performed by a group, with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment

Thoughts?

A few comments by New Zealanders & Americans to show how this is disgusting.

Just another racial pig who thrives off being 'controversial' in the least intelligent way.
I'm from the UK.

I'm not offended. Also I don't really care if she changes peoples minds about my country, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that's what interests me, the way people think.

Contrary to popular belief, one person doesn't speak for "Americans"

Both americans and everyone finds that rude... so it's not "Those americans"

Not everyone acts that way.

Sometimes we just need a friend.
Someone to hold us when you can't stand.
Sometimes even to pretend like you matter for that split second that everything seems to be crashing down.
And sometimes it's just easier to say goodbye.

This.
Just because one person does this idiotic act, it does not define Americans as a whole.

Obviously, it's extremely disrespectful for this journalist to make those remarks upon an ancient culture, but does that really mean all "Americans" copy her?

Just clearing this up.
I was asking "The Americans", about an American

Didn't mean to make it sound like I was asking you why you Americans thought of us this way.

i agree she's an idiot but I don't think that it's big of a deal. I love top gear UK despite the fact that they make jokes about Americans all the time.
