Default Shaving - 07-31-2013, 07:48 PM

So I've started trying to shave over the summer but can't really get the hang of it. I'm using a electric shaver
Spoiler
where the blades are underneath this metal grill. I get in the shower, wash my hair/face, put on shaving cream, and then shave.

However, very few of the hairs seem to come out when I push lightly and go over many times. When I push harder, the skin turns red and feels like it's been sandpapered for a few hours, and only about half of the hair still comse out. It doesn't really bleed but it's constant pain for a few hours..

Just wondering if anybody has any tips on how to shave. My dad thinks I'm some sort of idiot because I can't get it right.

Can't really help with electric, I just use a manual razor.

Don't really have any problems other than in grown hairs

Well #1 you're not going to get any completely smooth shave without a razor... As in a blade that you manually stroke across your face.

#2 - Unless you grow 1/4th inch of hair overnight (or you have a beard...etc), you don't even need to have an electric shaver.

My dad just gave me the electric one; he says I'd probably end up cutting myself with a regular one and this is the safety way to start :/

Electric shaver isn't for everyone. Sometimes the blades are too dull to get any hairs off, and sometimes you need to use a manual shaver.

I don't know if it's different for guys as it is for girls... Face vs Legs, but I can't use an electric razor on my legs. Doesn't do anything at all... so I use shaving cream and these bad boys.

Honestly girls manual razors work best. That's what I use and that are really gentle on your skin plus sharp as fuck for getting the girls vagina hairs.

I've honestly never used an electric razor. I hate having facial hair, so of course I have to have a close shave. I use these, and they do really well.

Also, don't forget to wash your face with warm water before you shave to open up pores and whatnot, and once you're done shaving, wash your face with cold water. It'll allow a closer shave.

Yeah, use the manual ones they help a lot.
My bear hairs never come off with those, I just use those to thing them before I shave.

I have one like the one in the picture, and it doesn't work for shit.

Use a blade razor, they work much better (just don't cut yourself lol).

Honestly I like the single-bladed razors that come in multi-packs for cheap at like Target or something.

Not a real scientist about shaving. But I saw this on the tele the other day.

Even though it's for women, pretty sure men can use them as well. After all they're hairs.
