Default Studying is so hard! - 06-23-2012, 07:59 AM

I spend about 3 hours on studies a day.

113 days to national exam.

Feels like giving up on studying, a very tough struggle.

Have the passion and my 4 year crush as motivation.
I need advice on hanging on to my education.

Don't do what I did. I didn't study and it pretty much crushed my results to a minimum.
Just keep studying, and you'll land yourself a good job later on in life.

I feel I lack the drive to study already.
And Singapore gonna be a competitive society, I had no feelings when I thought of myself just migrate to another country and live normally.

Lack the drive to study. It is so energy consuming and successful people's stories don't really motivate me. Guess I am beyond redemption...

Don't give up! I'm graduating this year from college and i'm o so glad i spent those hours behind the books. I totally get you when you say lack the drive but it gets better.

First off, you'll lose the courses who don't interest you. In you final years you'll only have the things you really want to study for and you'll understand how you'll need these things for your job later on.

Second, when you get in the right mindset, studying isn't that bad tbh. You'll never like it, don't get me wrong. But if you do it right you won't get the feeling that you are living behind your books and gave up your life. When you study, do it intensive and attentive, don't waste time. I used to spend hours 'studying' while i watched movies, the result was i spend about 12h a day behind my desk. Now i just study for 6h and go out/ see friends. But the same amount off work gets done.

Pure physics, geography does not interest me.
I just eat, shit, wank, study, lie on bed, think about other things.
The " wank " is a joke.

Education system is totally different.

I can only tell you about a European system i'm afraid. No experience with 'national' exams in that way. Just don't give up you'll be sure to regret it! and get out between study sessions, helps to dull down the feeling you want to kill yourself lol

Book study + note taking.

Research is only for chemistry, about applications of hydrocarbon and shits in real world industry.

Well this gets me excited for college (I presume that's what educational level you are on). One more year of high school until my mom isn't there to force me to "study" (a.k.a sit on the computer and still get straight A's).

Tell me about it, I'm in an IB & AP student about to go into dual enrollment. (For those who are non-american, it's basically attending high school and college at the same time.) I can tell you now that I'm going to be busier than ever. Anyways, as previous users have said in this thread, put balance into your life. I can tell you now that I feel very worn down from over doing it in school, and having too many curricular activities. An alternate method is making smaller goals for yourself to reach, making that large goal your one and only goal will make the process really tedious.
