Default Academic Motivation. - 11-11-2012, 04:02 PM

Title says it all.

I'm currently home schooled due to my having "inter-cranial hypertension", so I do all of my work on my own time. Each class assigns some work for the week, and you have the entire week to do it. Sounds great, right?

Problem is, I'm having issues with motivation. I always end up putting work off until the last day, or sometimes I don't even do it. I have classes that I call into, and we discuss the material over the phone. Sometimes I just feel too lazy to actually do that.

Does anyone have any advice that could help me to get things done? I really want to succeed in school and make my parents proud, but I can't really do that when I'm so lazy.

If you are lazy then you won't succeed as bad as you want to in your studies. If you're the type of guy who gets distracted every minute doing homework (like me), just focus in your studies a full hour and you'll understand shit so much easier.

Is this thread inspired by that moron failing middle school?

OT: Here's what I do. I tell myself I'll work for 10 minutes, and then take a break to have a sip of water, take a piss, etc. And I repeat the cycle. Most times after working for 10 minutes I get into it anyway and end up working for 30-60 minutes before taking a break.

My motivation behind doing school work is what makes most people unmotivated.
The way I see it, either I can piss around and play sg til 10 then do my hw and feel like shit while finishing it at school, or do it at 4, be done around 6ish then have the rest of the night off. Believe me having free time with no hw feels great

That's not a bad idea. Maybe my problem is that I try to do everything all at once. I'll try that, thanks!

(and I was going to post this thread anyway, but that guy did remind me. :3)

Making your parents proud should be your motivation. All you have to do is overcome the laziness which is basically a mental block in this case .

Give me your virtual bank. Every time you complete something you get a little back. Every day you don't even touch your books I keep like 100m
Seems fair.
