Default Need Help to Quit Smoking Weed - 03-14-2013, 06:44 PM

Not a lot of you know, but I started smoking weed around my sophomore year (senior now) in high school. Just around a month back, my parents found out I smoke when I got caught with possession.

At this point, I don't want to quit, but I also promised my dad I would. I had never seen my parents so hurt by my life decisions. When I got caught, I didn't even care what happened to me; I cared more of what my family would think of me.

For the next two weeks I have to go to a drug and family class with my dad (every Tuesday and Thursday for 2 hours). Just today I found out that a man dropped out of high school because after his panel the school dind't want him back.

For anyone out there that smokes or quit smoking, do you ever think about it? How do you stopyourself? Any help or advice is appreiated

Been smoking since 7th grade, walking home after school with a nugget of pot and a aluminium bowl lol .

But my mom knows she doesn't say anything because I told her it really helps me.

I guess you need to be really strong willed if you're like a addict,

I'd suggest you tell your dealers not to sell you shit ever again! even if you begged because you're really trying to quit.

Just quit cold-turkey, I've done it multiple times for no reason at all.

what wyatt said. I smoked from freshmen year till 2 and a half months ago(senior in highschool). I decided its doing nothing for me besides draining my money. I just quit cold turkey and it worked out for me.








When life gives you lemons,

I recently stopped not too long ago, the one main problem was that all my friends at the current time were also smoking weed. What i realized is that i am going to be influenced to do it just because all my friends are, and quite frankly there is not much else to do to pass the time (Sounds unrealistic) what i did was removed myself from that group of friends, and then slowly weened off the weed. I went from smoking constantly all day after school, to smoking just at night to help me fall asleep. My routine was to wake up, get high etc etc, that's the first thing i did for so many years, that's how my routine went and i found it hard to kick that habit. But like i said, slowly ween off it if you can, start smoking 50% less everyday, then before you know it you won't even want to smoke weed anymore. Also remove yourself from that group of friends for a while, so the little thing we call "Peer Pressure" doesn't come back into play.

You will start feeling so much better when you quit, i'm not even close to as tired, my drive to do stuff is 100% better, and overall im just feeling way better.

It's easy! Just get addicted to something else like video games. I have smoked a huka before its really addictive. Dude, the only way to stop is to find yourself another addiction. Get your mind of things. Right now just focus on doing right, and not looking back to try to do it all over again. I said its easy, but to be honest its not. Right now just look ahead and stop thinking about it. Just distract yourself, or maybe even make a new set of friends. I don't really have any friends other than SG friends, so I'm not sure what it's like to be convinced to do something in front of your friends.

The best to me was passion fruit.
But I quit by finding something else to calm my nerves, such as music, talking to people that are straight edge. maybe you could also start working out instead of smoking. Get a very healthy body.

like smackturd said... get addicted to other things......
i only smoke weed like once per 6 months now.... i am mainly on cigarettes (i smoke only like 4 a week) it's difficult to quit in a sudden.

just take your time and reduce ur consumption week by week

@Ameer, either try cold turkey or try and get addicted to something else.
Gum is a decent alternative.

You could also try spending the time you'd spend smoking playing video games or working out/playing a sport.
If you can, cut your connections between you and your dealers, or stop associating with people who you know are smokers.
