Default Weight Losing Thread - MY STORY! - 01-18-2012, 01:16 PM

Well lately I've been slimming, I wasn't OVERWEIGHT OVERWEIGHT but I was a little up there.

In early November my head Snapped, I was sick of being overweight and drinking sodas and eating junk food every single day. It was horrible for me Because....

I was diagnosed with Diabetes. (From Generation I have it)

I now take insulin & everything but anyways On to guide :P

1. Cut what you eat in half

Say you go to McDonalds and get 2 Double Cheese burgers & Sweet tea.

- Instead get One cheese burger & Diet Coke/water/powerade etc.

Also when eating home dinners, say you eat tacos that night. If you eat 4 tacos only eat 2.

I know its hard but you have to do it when in bad situations. This will make you see a improvement, & your stomach will start taking less food.

2. Eat Veggies and Fruit!

I can't stress enough explaining this!

You Need to eat salad & other veggies and fruits because this is giving you more potassium(Bananas) & Such. Also will make you feel a lot better about yourself by starting to eat things healthy instead of eating those cookies.

3. Replacing Junk Food

This relates to number 2 by a little.

Instead of eating that good good tasty snack, eat the cereal, or eat the oatmeal.
Junk food has a big effect on your weight situation and that's what I needs to stop.

4. Drinks

NO MORE SODAS, TEA, ETC!

Drink Water -- If you don't like water go ahead out to your local groceries store and buy crystal light, makes water into lemonade but its LIGHT. 5 cals.

5. Working Out (Sports, Jogging, walking etc)

This is the main base.

You need to walk, jog, run, whatever you want to do.

Start off walking down your street a little bit, and if you drive. When you go to a store Park far away from the store so you have a little hike to get there. Do situps in your room at night times. Go to a local Gym.

All those work!

I lost 56 Pounds so far within 3 months and you guys can do the same.

Thanks :P

To be honest don't try cutting what you eat in half, you'll just end up snacking all the time.
Try eating healthier food, don't go to Mcdonalds at all?
Eat three regular meals a day.
Breakfast:
Oatmeal, yogurt, muslii, bread with cheese or w/e.
Lunch:
Pasta, anything that contains healthy carbohydrates.
This doesn't mean you should go to subways for lunch each day.
Dinner:
This is where you want your proteins, chicken or steak is fine, in the case of eating red meat make sure it's not ''rare'' since it takes a lot longer to digest.

You also want to work on your eating patterns, eat 3 hours before you go to bed, not 20 minutes.
Eat all three meals at the same time each day, with regular intervals (breakfast 7am, lunch 11-12, dinner 5-7.)
This will give your body time to digest all the food, and you wont be gaining an excess of nutrients, or calories.

Sleeping is very important, get a minimum of 7 hours a sleep each night, try to go to bed at the same time.

Last but not least training is vital.
If you have a lot of body fat it's actually easiest to start with low pulse excercises (for obvious reasons)
Weight lifting is great because it basically converts your fat straight into muscles, and you still work up a little bit of a pulse.
Barely use machines, they're way too focused on specific muscle groups, use dumbells, ketterbells, deadlifts, squats, etc.
Go to the gym 3-4 times a week and after a month or so i would reccomend starting jogging, power walking, biking, rowing or whatever you prefer.

And for the love of god don't drink alcohol.

Hope this helps >.>

Cutting down on what you eat isn't going to stick.
Making a habit out of eating healthier food is.
I'm fully aware that certain fast foods contain chemicals that are addictive, more reason to lay off them.
If you don't change the type of food you eat, you'll be back up at eating the amount you did before in no time.
