I don't know what I think about that topic any more. I am 'Christian' however, I'm more of an Atheist. In one of my lectures at uni we watched this clip that was based in Egypt of a 'god' that did everything that Jesus did. The weird thing was that it was all dated before the story of Jesus. I have to find the video, it is in one of my lectures. However, I cant remember which one. I'll post it here when I find it.

considering its from turkey a highly muslim country, i feel possibly that due to its similarities to the views of the muslim faith of jesus as a prophet rather than the son of god , i feel maybe it has more converted views etc than that of the normal catholic church. Thats all i can decipher, i believe the very morals of the church we believe in are corrupt etc however the current pope is looking to change this often being described as the 'poor pope'.

There are so many things that's not right and stuff.
My dad went to Jerusalem, the place Jesus got crucified and there was a hole in the wall where Jesus walked down and bumped in the wall with the cross on his back.

Allot of stories and stuff, don't know what to believe.

Also, i got told on school that jesus was buried somewhere in a cave with a massive boulder infront of it so he couldn't get out.
But in Jerusalem he was buried in a cathedral or something, can't really remember what my dad told me.
But definitely not in a cave, what most people were told.

I do believe of his existence though, just not all the unreal stuff like the wine and bread story.
If it happend back then, how come there is no one able to do it at this time?

i believe the cave was where jesus was buried and three days later was born again (easter). Am i wrong to think that either the cathedral was built over his tomb where he was laid to rest or that cathedral is where Mary was buried , my gf recently visited jerusalem and she said there was a large cathedral but it was where Mary was laid to rest not jesus.

But yes there are many things strange and corrupt with the catholic church, for example you can visit the hole where Jesus' cross stood in the ground from all these years how are people able to be positive that is where his cross stood and that the hole remains.

The issue with religion in the end that I believe is that it is a belief and not an idea. Idea's are changeable. However, a belief is different it's a my mind is made up on this and no one can prove me wrong, thus the issues around it.

The bible is a book with stories full of life lessons. Don't interpret it literally, but use the stories to overcome difficulties in life.

He said for people like you not to post.

OT: Being a Christian Realist I believe that the faith of Christianity teacher it's followers to be good citizens. All the teachings like 'love your neighbour' 'Treat another as you would yourself', these are all good guidelines to help you be a good person.

I like to think I'll send my children to a Christian School so they're around others who've grown up with these beliefs and guidelines.

If you can raise your children to have those guidelines without religion then that's fine. But I like to think giving someone a group to associate with is only beneficial and has a better chance of finding people who share you're ideologies.
