Default Staff Feedback - 06-29-2014, 02:34 PM

Now that the reset has been executed and everyone's settled into the new Silab, I find it fitting to give some feedback on the current staff team.

Also, as I'm giving these I would also like to ask for feedback on myself and my recent administrative promotion.

Owners

@Gir - I'm glad to know that you're still helping with updates and still apart of the server in a big way.
If you need anymore help you know where to ask.

@Brittany - With the reset and frequent updates and everything that goes along with keeping SG running smoothly, it can all be overwhelming.
Disregarding that fact you still login and take on the day being the best you can be in all aspects.
It's definitely not easy running a server and you've shown me that, I'm just glad I can help in the little ways I do.

Administrators

@Teh Beast - You're one of the last ancient members on SG and I don't think you'll leave again anytime soon.
Coming back and receiving in-game administrator and not to mention super administrator shortly after isn't something to look past.
It just shows how much experience you actually have and the respect you've earned from it.
You're a chill dude and good friend.

@Mr 223 - Jose, you've been the same thoughtful and caring guy since I've met you, which isn't a bad thing.
Being the longest running staff member now you have the knowledge and experience to take charge of any situation.
That being said, I've never seen you take on a leadership position as well as be mean, not that those go hand in hand.

@Ahri - With your recent promotion you've been doing well with trying to provide the server with more help, such as guides etc.
I don't have any complaints about how you've been moderating and only high aspirations for what you'll do next.

@wildy owns - All I have to say is be more active, Dom. You have everything else covered.

@GoogleSlayer - If it's okay for me to say, when you promoted to administrator you weren't given the right leadership or teachings to really know what to do as admin.
That being said, you taught yourself with your own dutch style additive and I'm grateful for you to have been given that opportunity.
You're shaping to be a really great administrator and I'm grateful to have been a mentor in your moderator days.
As for your forum moderation, you know how I feel, but with time comes experience, like I always say.

@Gta - We don't speak very often, if at all; I don't know your likes, dislikes, personality, etc.
But putting that aside, I do pay attention to how you moderate on the server and the forums, both I have complaints for.
Your in-game performance, I feel, is made mostly up of afk on the forums or skilling, which leads to not commonly helping with help calls/cc, I can't account for PMs.
Either way, I feel an in-game administrator should assert themselves a little more into the community.
Forum moderation is easy enough but the more I look through the dirty sections and apart from the reported posts, what do you do?
I understand there are three other moderators, but don't rely on them to do a job tomorrow which you can do now. (Not assuming you do)

In-Game Moderators

@Arch N Skilz - Merica'

@The Propker - Your activity, which I assume you know, isn't what it used to be which worries me.
When you are online you don't do anything wrong and you are actually helpful, which is unlikely of a PKing staff member.

@Tom - I understand last time i gave feedback, in a sense, to you it wasn't very nice. I want to apologize for that.
Anyways, you're an active and kind person who is very determined to something when you put your mind to it.
On the other hand, recently your helping has really gone down hill, apart from PMs that you may get I've not seen you respond to a help call nor go out of your way to help.

@Brady - I'm not sure if I'm the only one that's in the dark on why you're so inactive but please come back.

@iPod - For when we are on at the same time you do everything you're asked of wonderfully.
You respond to help calls quickly, are attentive to being in-game, and you are kind, which is what a great moderator is made of.
Please keep this up, I'm grateful that you're proving to be what my expectations were of you and I'm glad that you are apart of the team.

@Everyone - Since my return to being within the staff team I can tell the priority of helping and maintaining a healthy relationship between the community and yourselves has gone down tremendously.
Apart from a few, everyone seems to be focused on whatever they're doing and not taking the time to accompany players wants and needs in the helping aspect of things, or making them feel they're valuable to the server.
The message I generally want to give on this feedback thread is to really try and make the player feel that they need you as much as you need them, by that I mean without a player what is a server to moderate on?

Thank you for reading and I appreciate that you'll all consider what I've said.

You don't see me take a leadership role because I'm not a leader nor a follower. As always, I've just been me. However, that doesn't mean that I haven't served a purpose to the other members of the team of course. If anything, I serve best as a 'silent' supporter. If you need me, simply ask, and I jump.

As for being mean, I'm not sure what you mean exactly, so if you can elaborate on that, that would be great.

I think I've known you long enough to expect that or know that of you already.

As for the other comment it wasn't meant to mean anything, you're just so damn nice.

I guess so.

I just don't blow up when a problem comes my way. My defense against rowdy players and/or similar situations is to change my demeanor from helpful and caring to "Hey, here's what you wanted. Now, leave if you don't need anything else."

I do appreciate your help with things, Wyatt.

Sometimes we just need a friend.
Someone to hold us when you can't stand.
Sometimes even to pretend like you matter for that split second that everything seems to be crashing down.
And sometimes it's just easier to say goodbye.

Thanks for the feedback Wyatt.

I guess you're right. Very short after I was promoted to administrator I was basically left alone because the majority of the staff members quit. I had no one really to look up to besides Brittany, who was often too busy to teach me properly how to administrate. I think I've found my way though, although objective views on my fellow staff members is still not as I wanted it to be. I tend to get personal with staff members rather than qualifying them on their ability to moderate a server. Perhaps that's a problem, at times you couldn't afford to lose any staff members, so I just had to stick with it. I could observe all I want, but letting moderators go was out of the question.

I've been through probably the greatest time of this server as staff member, and the absolute worst times ever, and it wasn't always easy to find motivation, but I dragged through and I'm really grateful that Brittany still lets me fulfill my roll on this server.

My feedback back to you, Wyatt, would be:

Your administrating instinct never really left you, which is good, but also sometimes a bit stressful. I know you have great knowledge of the majority going around in this server but sometimes your replies come over as harsh and in a very demanding voice. I don't know if you mean it that way, but that's how it sounds to me.

Of course, about the way you deal with in game and forums incidents is marvelous, as you would expect from someone with your experience. Your approach to players in game is very professional and serious, somewhat the opposite of me, but that also keeps your relationships with players professional, and not personal to possibly affect your objectiveness.

I've really grown into liking you, and I hope we can keep up that relation.

We've never really talked and I honestly don't know why. I think staff members should get to know each other a bit. We still have plenty of time.

As for my activity and moderation, I don't feel I'm doing so bad. In-game I do go afk often, but I also reply back almost everytime. I do help calls too. Maybe you've just seen me at my worst. :/ But... I know I can do better and you're right. On forums I don't really post, I lurk a lot and handle stuff, could do better when it comes to cleaning the sections. I mostly edit wiki/prices & help with bugs and such, that's pretty much how I help.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hmm, what can I say that someone else or myself haven't already said...

A long time ago, I told you to take more of a leadership role within the staff team. I can tell you that you're doing great at that now. You deal with problems and situations as I would, so of course I like your administrating ability. Why aren't you a forum mod already?! (hint hint Brittany)

Also if you find yourself getting bored at times, don't force yourself to stay on. Find something that you like to do in-game and stick with it.
You're a good guy Watty, try to be less serious with others sometimes thou. Let them see the side that you show your friends.

One of a few people I can truly call a friend. Oh and your taste in music is dope.

@Inthecorner Thanks for the feedback too
