Default Few Suggestions - 03-18-2017, 05:38 PM

Hey there! Excuse the shit formatting.

Just a few suggestions myself and XSwordstar came up with, with some explanation. I've had to send to people, so ignore anything that may come across as an individual-only basis! :P

We all know - player count is low, and retainment is too. Once you've got a few 99s under your belt, you feel like you've accomplished it all. That, and once you've got a decent set of gear, the interest in coming back and working towards a goal becomes less and less worthwhile. That's why myself and Xswordstar56 - Sword - came up with the idea of 'Achievements'; yes, Achievements.

Achievements keep people active. People have a goal to work towards. Got all your 99s? Got all the gear sets? Bugger all left to do? Achievements might be the answer to keep said players returning, and new players working towards something more impressive. Upon completion of one 'Achievement', a small reward, be it monetary, cosmetic, or item, can be awarded to the player. Upon a block of completed achievements - say, 5-10, for example, a 'better' costmetic item could be award. Gold's nice, but it just doesn't feel worthwhile to work towards. With cosmetic items, you're not becoming a better player, you just feel like a better player. Yes, there's 'Prestiging', but things to do in between that - growing a certain number of a certain seed, killing the KBD 100 times, and so forth. Some suggestions would be needed to kick-start the list of Achievements that could be added, that way, the players have an input on what sorts of Achievements they think are attainable.

Events. We all love a good drop party. An exciting hide 'n' seek. So why don't we host them, once every week - or two!? Mini events are enjoyable. You want to make sure you're there when they take place. Make a big thing about it. Promise there'll be cosmetic items, gold, normal items, and so forth. Make sure people know what's happening, where, and when. A drop party, every 2 weeks, could be held in the Party Room. Put Party Pete at home, and only let him be usable a day before the Drop Party's supposed to start so players could also input items? Every month, said events could be bigger, more exciting - larger rewards?

I do believe Gir is working on this one, but I'll say it anyway. The forums. They're dull. Boring. Drab. For new players, there's nothing worse than seeing a page of text, with monotone colours staring back at them. The forums need to be exciting, where players go for help, advice, tips, suggestions, guides - you name it, players want to access it. I'm not talking about re-making the forums, but just having a little shuffle. Some of the older threads that haven't been posted in for years could be archived, so they're not to show "Last post: 2010", or something along those lines. It makes the forums look dead.

Lastly - 'Corrupted' PvP gear. There's nothing worse than getting a PvP item that's corrupted. We want to be able to fix said items. Obviously, not just a simple transfer of a few hundred thousand gold to an NPC - something that carries more weight. Perhaps, for each item, you have to pay a small number of vote tickets? Maybe 2-3 days worth? That way, the gear that's not 'Corrupt' still holds some value, and a new possible introduction of fixing said items doesn't lower the price, as people introduce a handful more into the Economy.

We all want to see the community grow again, we just have to keep player count and interaction/retainment constantly evolving. Let's start now, so we don't leave it too late.

Cheers buddy!

Malted, AKA Dan.

Bad idea to use vote tickets because of VPN's and shit. Maybe like a "repair" item which would be tradeable or untradeable(to be decided) dropped from a high tier boss, combined with smithing to repair corrupted armor. There is also a fair amount of PVP armor in the game possible adequate reset? Replace all current PVP armor with its alched value if that is even possible?

EX: Add "repair item" to Tarns dad at a fairly rare drop rate, then require 80 smithing to use that item on a corrupted piece of armor and then making it normal again.

Other than that everything else is great.
