Default Gaming PC - 01-28-2013, 05:54 PM

So as you may be able to assume from the title, I'm building my own gaming PC. I've already ordered the parts and all but I want your opinions or suggestions on it.

Specs
EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti Graphics Card
Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500w Power Supply
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz Desktop Memory
AMD FX-8150 8-Core Processor Socket AM3+
Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 6Gb Motherboard

I know that 8-Core is a bit overboard but I want this computer to last a very long time as technologies and games evolve very quickly and same with the 16GB memory.

I specifically wanted to build a PC to play Guild Wars 2 and Battlefield 3 as my current computer can't even handle Team Fortress 2.

Ah cool you've gone for the new AMD CPU. Would love one myself! Although I think 6 cores would be more than enough for me.

Honestly, that build should last you a good amount of time. Unless they start coming out with some really ridiculous new game engines or something you should be fine really. It will handle pretty much any new releases without a hitch I would have thought.

the 16GB RAM is probably a little overboard, since I can't see anything using more than 8GB. But hell, the more the merrier!

Have fun with your new rig!

BIG thank you to Shane for this awesome sig!
