I have a decently shitty pc right now. It's basically a DELL Inspiron 660 with all of the stock components except for one of the hard drives which I used as a replacement for the stock one that failed a few months back.

This is my new build that I plan on buying within the next couple of weeks:

Intel Core i5-4690K, Gigabyte Radeon R9 290, Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) - System Build - PCPartPicker

What do you guys think? $1 for shipping, aint that some shit?

ball cancer too, douches.

I would only suggest you upgrade to an i7 processor if you want to play games; the optical drive probably isn't needed these days, but if you got specific uses then why not?

I would also recommend getting the I7 but this looks pretty good.

Pretty neat, you don't need an I7, for the people above.

Though, if you're going to take 8GB or RAM, I would get 2 x 4GB. It works better than 1 x 8GB.

Why spew bullshit like that out?

i7 Processors are not for 'if you want to play games' they're for high-end graphics jobs, rendering and 3D animation type things. The i5 4690k is one of the top of the line (AFAIK) i5's and will perform on par if not better than an i7 with most games from my knowledge.

An i7 would be a waste of money unless you plan on getting into some serious shit

As @GoogleSlayer has said, take 2x4gb of ram, it will perform better. (Unless you plan on getting another 8gb stick soon.)

The build is looking almost perfectly fine @Brendan only thing I would possibly change is the power supply to a bit better quality one.

Maybe one of these (still it's your call on what you want! )

Corsair Professional 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (CMPSU-750HX) - PCPartPicker

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (120-G1-0750-XR) - PCPartPicker

Silverstone Strider Plus 750W 80+ Silver Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (ST75F-P) - PCPartPicker

If you give a fuck what people think, you're not going to get anywhere

Dope. Everything seems really good, except maybe for the solid state drive, what would you even use it for?

I'd also go with 2x4gb, they're cheaper... unless you want to spend more for a good 8gb or plan on upgrading in the future.

Everything looks nice, you might want dual channel 2x4gb ram unless you plan on adding another stick of 8gb.
