Default Metasequoia Model Guide - 04-21-2012, 05:23 AM

When i create my model a few people will say "whats that program" or that they are not smart enough to use it but i thought i might as-well make a guide so that more people will get into creating them, now lets get started
Spoiler

You will need to download the program Free.

you will start buy starting the program and going to file an turn basic mode off because this will make it harder to create detailed 3d models.
Spoiler

the view which says top you will more and rotate later.
Spoiler

Then you will need to make a Straight line
Spoiler

now you have to basic line which you will make you design around.
you can then start with either blade or the hilt doesn't matter which one, be sure when making your outline you use the line on the create panel.
Spoiler

Spoiler

once the hilt is the correct size (approx you can re-scale later) you can start on the next part.
now you will need to create the rest of the model.
Spoiler

you can then finish off you scaling to make it the right size.
Spoiler

that's the hardest part done, now to make 3d before coloring,
select that middle line we created at the beginning and change to side view (may vary, left or right).
Spoiler

now comes the easiest part, you will need color in the the model Now you must change your create panel from line to face!.
also you must click mat so you have a mat panel which you can drag to the right.
Spoiler

once done you must click new on the mat panel, double click on the "mat1" which appears, you may name it but its not important, it can only be important when doing a complicated model with a lot of colors
Spoiler

once you have joined all of the lines with the face you should have something that looks like this.
Spoiler

now press either Ctrl+A or Edit-Select all
and then Select-Mirror and select the middle option and press ok.
Spoiler

now you will have you other side of you model... but it is to close together to join so u need to move it slightly away from the other
Spoiler

join it up and you model is read to be resizes and moved to rsps size.
Spoiler

happy modeling

ill be looking forward to seeing your creations

This looks like Studio <7. :s

What's the advantage to using this over any other modelling platform?

Yeah, the newer modeling programs like Maya 2013 and 3DS Max 2012 are really complicated but for good reason. Once you get the hang of a more complex interface, you can create better models and such. Though if you're modeling for rs, it's all low poly shit so it doesn't really matter there lol
