Default White Horizontal Lines - 06-22-2012, 11:10 AM

So my laptop got dropped last week and ever since the screen would have these multiple white lines, starts mainly from the top. Then makes my computer lag to the point where i have manually shut down. I pressed the edges of the laptop screen, and that seemed to fix the problem. Should I be concerned or take it to a pro for fixing before something even worse happens? If needed to be taken to a pro how much would it cost roughly?

Lol'd sounds like you broke the monitor crystals.

No point in taking it in. Would cost more to fix the crystals than it would to buy a whole new laptop.

Sometimes we just need a friend.
Someone to hold us when you can't stand.
Sometimes even to pretend like you matter for that split second that everything seems to be crashing down.
And sometimes it's just easier to say goodbye.

The problem doesn't exist anymore :/ I thought it had something to do with the ribbon?

OT: I dropped my laptop like a week ago

In my opinion, it's more than 99% likely the problem is from that; and pressing on the screen definitely didn't help.
I think you're better off buying a new laptop, because it's probably dead.

It's not dead :/, it works perfectly fine but sometimes (like once every 3 hours) shows the lines if i try to press on the back of the laptop screen (intentionally trying to find where and why this is occurring). When i hook the laptop to an external monitor (like my tv) it works fine while the laptop screen shows these lines. So i guess i got to be extremely careful with it.
