Default Looking to get a new graphics card... - 07-31-2012, 01:05 AM

I'm looking for a Radeon HD 6450, and on bestbuy i found these...

VisionTek - ATI Radeon HD 6450 1GB Memory x16 PCI Express Graphics Card - 900371

and

Gigabyte Technology - HD Experience AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Graphics Card - GV-R645OC-1GI

Please tell me what the difference is!!

Thanks!

EDIT: I am currently using a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT, the graphics card posted above is better right?

Thanks, also would you have any recommendations for a graphics card that could say... run Skyrim/Battlefield 3 on high settings that are under $150?

It wouldn't get that.
Wait for the 650 to come out, it's be much better then the 550, because the 550 uses Fermi, which isnt nearly as good as the new Kepler for the 600 series(640, I believe uses fermi, not sure though). Kepler has better cooling for sure, the fermi cards would get really hot. My friend had the 550, and he hated that thing.

Well im also kind of on a budget, i'm planning on upgrading to windows 7 64 bit from the terrible windows vista 32 bit, thats $110, i need another 4gb of ram, thats about $30, and I need a graphics card that works with these specs but is stool good enough to run battlefield 3/ skyrim/etc.

Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40GHz (2 COUs) ~2.4GHz

DirectX 11

Will the one that Fallacy linked be good enough and be compatible?

Intel Pentium? Damn, if you're going to get a cheap CPU, go with AMD. Personally, I like Intel, but I would not get a Pentium.

Anyone know of any graphics cards that are 1GB and good enough for Battlefield 3 that are under $150?

---------- Post added at 11:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:48 PM ----------

Ok, so currently I have a GeForce 7600, this is a PCI Express x16, the graphics card I WANT to get, is a PCI Express 2.1 x16, can i still use it even though its 2.1?

Ehh.. considering the two brands suggest different power supply wattages, I'd make sure you have enough power first.

I have an HIS Radeon HD 6790 IceQ X and it does just what you're looking for. It's around that price range too.
