Default computer help again.. - 06-11-2013, 12:16 PM

Every time i start my old computer it does this, it loads windows xp but right when it gets to the login screen this comes up.

Not much I can do without the minidump file. Are you able to boot it into safe-mode at all?

Nope, as soon ias it hits the login screen it fails. Or if i boot in safemode it loads for about 2 minutes, then fails.

Press F8 when it's coming up and try, "Last known good configuration" or something. Once you do that, and IF it works, make sure all your drivers are up to date.

ive done every f8 choice possible, they all come up to this.
Only thing i know is one of my fans started acting up about a month before i quit using it, but it never not worked..

This happened to my parents laptop a long time ago, and they had WinXP as well. When we brought it to Geek Squad, they said the hard drive was fried.

I'm honestly not sure. Their laptop got really hot on the bottom, but I'm not sure if that played a role.

Well extreme heat will cause blue screens, which would seem to be the case if your fans aren't working. Buttttt it shouldn't blue screen on start up.

As for the hard drive, it should just tell you that there isn't a hard drive connected if it isn't working. It wouldn't hurt to try another though.
