Default Random lag - 04-07-2014, 12:45 PM

Recently I bought a new pc, but with it came some nasty lag spikes. I still have the same download speed, but my internet just disconnects me randomly sometimes. I struggle to open Chrome pages, SilabGarza freezes for me every few minutes, but I keep the same download speed I had before I bought the new pc.

I'm absolutely clueless on what's causing it, I've tried re installing ethernet drivers, resetting router and modem, changing the LAN cable, but nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have any idea what's causing it?

Enabled UPnP?
Also, have you opened the ports on your new PC? Since your new PC has a different address as your older one.

Explain UPnP? And I have the main ports open, yes.

Have you tried a wireless connection with it yet? Like an adapter/dongle? If it works fine, then yes it might the cable or port

if not, it could be your network card/motherboard that's faulty/shit

and if it's not a hardware issue, ring your provider and ask them if it might be the network but I'm pretty sure it won't be

Don't have anything wireless laying around. But on my phone it works fine.

Assuming I brought my motherboard brand new, I don't think there's a big chance of it being defect.

And like you said, the chance that it's a ISP problem is very small, since it appeared after getting a new PC. Would be a coincidence if it wasn't my PC.

Well yeah, if it works fine on your phone you definitely know it's not your internet connection. Wireless adapters are like 12 Euros, try one out?

I can use my phone as wireless tether for my PC. But it works fine with the wireless, but I want the stability from LAN (Well, the stability I have yet to get).
