Exclamation My desktop - 09-29-2011, 08:50 PM

Alright so I just made a new background for my desktop but All the file/program names are highlighted blue now. How do I get them transparent like how they normally are ?

Some backgrounds do that because they think you wont be able to read the text under the icon.

Change the background, and it should go back to normal.

Right-click on your desktop and select:

Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web (tab)
and uncheck "Lock Desktop Items", click OK and APPLY.

Also, check this setting:

Right-click MY COMPUTER and select:
Properties > Advanced > Performance settings >
Visual Effects, place a check next to "Use Drop Shadows
for Icon Labels on the Desktop", then click "apply".

Not sure if this helped.

Don't think you can, think the background determines the icon colour? Had this problem myself but I just learnt to live with it.

Yea,you can't change it. It automatically highlights it when it thinks that you can't read the background because of the color of it. :P
