Default Tell me what you think - OS in Java. - 07-07-2010, 04:27 PM

This was a project I had thought of when my programming teacher told us we had a final project to make. Everyone was doing their project in either HTML or Game Maker. I didn't want to do neither of them, so I chose Java. I thought of a few things and I finally thought, "Why not make an Operating System out of Java..?", just to see where I can get to. Right now it works; everything I made in Java is implemented into this Operating System. Although, this Operating System will not be fully in Java. The loader of the Operating System will not be in Java because it wouldn't be able to load a Kernel into memory and start it up. I am not done and far from it. I would just like some insight on the progress so far.

Tell me what you think though, what should be added, what should be taken out, etc. Thanks.

Good start. I'm no coder or anything, but it seems like you're doing very well.

Holy shit, that's actually quite impressive.

Sometimes we just need a friend.
Someone to hold us when you can't stand.
Sometimes even to pretend like you matter for that split second that everything seems to be crashing down.
And sometimes it's just easier to say goodbye.

But impressive job.

It would be, but his goal wasn't to just make a OS he wanted to make it in Java.
